    Bright Sadness

As we Orthodox Christians enter into the Lenten Season and make our repentant journey toward Pascha and the Warmth of the Resurrection, I, a sinner, ask your forgiveness, my brothers and sisters. May the Lord grant us all a sober and fruitful Lenten season. See you on the other side.

Wash yourselves, and ye shall be clean; put away the wicked ways from your souls before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17. learn to do well; diligently seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, consider the fatherless, and plead for the widow. 18. Come then, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: and though your sins be as scarlet, I will make them white as snow; and though they red like crimson, I will make them white as wool. 19. If then ye be willing, and obedient unto Me, ye shall eat the good of the land; 20. but if ye desire not, nor will obey me, the sword shall devour you, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. (Is 1:1-20, First Monday of Great Lent, the Sixth Hour)

    Traditional Beliefs and Birkenstocks?

Check out this great article at Ruth's Mosaic...cool thoughts. Being a crunchy lover of comfortable German footwear, healthy eats, Historical Christianity, and a future homeschooler, I really appreciated this...althoughI'm not a Republican, it's still good ;)

    Boy on Bench

I found Basil in the backyard sitting on this bench singing about birds and oranges. Glad I happen to have my camera. Juliana does cute things too, honest...poor second baby ;)

You are worried about seeing him spend his early years in doing nothing. What! Is it nothing to be happy? Nothing to skip, play, and run around all day long? Never in his life will he be so busy again. Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Emile, 1762
